BRIT PULP

FESTIVAL POSTER DESIGN
The poster was created as a working example with a project assigned to my graphic design students. The project focused on poster design and utilizing the larger format to be visually engaging yet still present the information organizationally. The name “BRIT PULP” was a play on the 1990s British popular music genre known as “BRIT POP,” combined with the word “PULP” — about the literature genre of fiction, synonymous with hard-boiled crime novels, known for their graphic violence and dialogue.

I sought to have the design elements work together to convey a sense of grittiness — roughened textures, out-of-registration print, and jumbled typography. Additionally, I wanted the bold colors of the Union Jack flag to be a striking focal point.
